Toe-tally Laid Up Week!

January 28, 2013

What´s up family! This week was pretty uneventful since I stayed inside the entire week. To reacap what happened last Monday.... I told the zone leaders that my toes were still hurting badly and that I had two more ingrown toenails. We weren´t doing anything so we took off to the Clinica. We got there and I told the doctor that they were hurting really badly and needed to have them cut again. He responded that we needed to take out the nail, so that´s what they did.
Me the morning after the took out my toenails. I look like I´m going to die because I didn't sleep during the night because my toes were throbbing and killing me!
Elder Molina, my doctor, cleaning my toes
First, they shot my toes up with a pantload of anestesia (Even two toes that they didn´t do anything with), then wrenched off my toe nails. It was freaky to watch. Later we got home and I started feeling a little pain, but not much until I went to bed. My toes were throbbing and hurt superbadly so I didn´t sleep much at all that night.

Changing the bandages was heck the first time. I changed them everyday so my toes never looked like the sith lord again. Then again on Thursday, we went back to the Clinica to get another toenail cut and another ´cleaned´ which they just scraped my toes and it hurt really bad.

We lucked out and got two kids from another ward to come and be mini misionaries with us during the week, Sammy and Adrian. They switched off days one going out with my comp and the other staying with me. I taught them some of the missionary lessons and answered questions that they had.

Also, because there wasn´t really anything to do and studying got boring really fast, I watched 17 Miracles about 5 or 6 times. Great movie.

The zone leaders had intercambios with some of the asistents (I don´t know if that is spelled right) to the presidents so they brought some packages from the office. No letters which kinda bummed me out because I know that I have letters from Granny. But ya, one package from Mom with bananagrams (which I got owned in), the ipod for my comp, speakers, and the photo albums! Also one from Grandma and Grandpa Allred with a ton of M&Ms!!! Greatest thing ever to eat during 17 Miracles! I really didn´t do much during the week, feel really lazy.

But yesterday we finally had an investigator come to church!!! I was so happy! She only came for sacrament and left after because she had to work but hey, She came to church! That´s good enough for me right now.

Ya, that´s about it for this week, really not much happened. I'm going to see how well wearing shoes goes today, I really don´t want to stay in the house anymore. We´ve got transfers coming tomorrow and I´m thinking that I´m going to be staying here because my comp has to go to the office in Barranquilla to have surgery. He has a cyst where no man should ever have one. Also, this next transfer is going to be 8 weeks long because of the whole schedule shift in the MTC.

Until next week! Hopefully my toes heal up quick! Spanish is getting better each week.  Abrazos y besos!

Less Fun than a Hobbit with Athlete's Foot!

January 21, 2013

Hey so I literal have no time to talk. We went to the Clinica to get my toes  checked out and they ended up not only cutting my toenails, but they took the entire freaking thing. I AM MISSING TWO OF MY TOENAILS!!!!!! Both on my big toes! I´m out for at least 5 days! Sucks!

They stabbed me with anestesia a bunch of times and even two other toes that they didn´t even cut, kinda mad about that. So ya, this week is going to be super lame, I´ll write more next week about what happened this last week! And hopefully I´ll be able to walk too!

Love you all! Abrazos y besos!

Need Investigators to Come to Church!

January 14, 2013

Well this week was pretty good, founds some new investigatores and a family that is really awesome. We taught the Plan of Salvation to them and the mom was super happy because it was so clear and she understands it. The lesson was super awesome, they loved it.

We`ve been really trying hard to change the way we teach. To first find out a question or problem that a person has, and then help them in that way instead of just powering through a lesson.

Kinda bummer sunday, none of the investigators came to church, even though we had soo many people tell us that they were going to come. We even passed by a couple people and they were sleeping. Not happy. Hoping really bad that some come next week.

We had interviews with the President on Saturday so he also brought mail, but I think I got robbed because I only got one letter, and I know that Granny is the most faithful writer and I know I have letters from her. Hopefully next mail drop I`ll get them.

Interview with the president was good, super short, just talked about how I was doing and if I had any questions or concerns. Only lasted like 8 minutes.

Today was just a chill pday because we don`t get money till tomorrow so no one has money to do anything. Literally everyone but me and Elder Anderson are flat broke right now. Next week should be funner.

Ya, that`s about it, not a ton happened, just trying to find new people to teach and get the ward to help.

Love you all! Abrazos y besos!

Painting in the New Year 2013!

January 7, 2013

How`s it going! This week started out rough because of the new year and everyone was partying (there was quite a bit of alcohol). But after the 3rd everyone was back to normal.

We had an intercambio last week and I was with Elder Rodriguez. I had one with him before, but a long time ago. But we had an awesome day, taught a bunch of lessons. Got 6 new investigators, it was great.

Not shaving cream!
We also had a little service project with one of our investigators and helped paint his house, but of course it ended in a paint fight. It was all fun until we had to leave and then he told us that one of the types of paint we used is for metal and doesn`t come out. And of course, that was the paint that was plastered in my hair and on my face. So we spent two hours getting the paint out. It was horrible and hurt really bad.

White Neck!
We changed times for church this week so it was at 8 in the morning instead of 9, which is kind of a bummer because it means that it`s more of an excuse for people to say that it`s `too early`. We`re hoping this week that we can get more people commited to a baptismal date and have them come to church.

Scrub-a-dub-dub!  Hard stuff to remove!
The weeks weather was brutal, not a cloud in the sky, just a ball of fire burning us. Stick to the shadows it the best advice ever.

Some of the Money we use in Colombia.
The zone leaders went to Barranquilla on Thursday but didn`t come back with mail so I was super bummed, but we have interviews with the president this Saturday so I`m praying that he`ll bring some letters/packages! Well that`s about it, love you all! Abrazos y besos!
